Where the customer price goes
When a customer requests a service on CarPot, the total they pay may include:
- Base service price
- CarPot customer fee (2.9% + $0.30). This covers Stripe's payment processing cost only. CarPot does not retain this amount.
Two fees. That's the whole list.
Covers Stripe's payment processing cost in full. No markup, no hidden fees, and CarPot does not retain any portion of this charge.
Supports servers, customer support, payment security and fraud prevention. Mechanics keep the full price they set, minus this one fee.
What mechanics earn. Mechanics keep the full service price they set. CarPot only deducts the standard mechanic fee, with no hidden percentages, so most of each payment goes directly to the mechanic.
How mechanics get paid.
The customer confirms the work is done to their satisfaction.
Funds stay protected in escrow for 5 days after completion.
The full amount lands in the mechanic's account. First payout only: a one-time 7-day Stripe hold.
Quotes and invoices
Customers receive a quote before the service and a full invoice once the work is complete. Both documents give a clear breakdown of every fee, covering the customer fee and the mechanic fee.
The bottom line
Two fees, both stated up front. Mechanics earn what they set, and customers see every charge before they confirm.
